The students already know about Sparta and hegemonic rivalries and decline of Greek cities (431-362 BC) from the units: 3 (chapter: 4) and 4 (chapter: 6) of their history school book.
CLASSROOM ORGANIZATION AND REQUIRED INFRASTRUCTURE
Students will work in groups of three with one computer per group using the WOW-HI Educational on-line Platform. Otherwise a PC and a video projector are needed

Objectives
After completing the activities proposed in this teaching scenario, students are expected to have achieved the following objectives:
• Be aware of the history of the street name ‘‘Ithomi’’.
• Connect ancient Ithomi with nowadays landscape.
• Familiarize themselves with the WOW-HI Educational on-line platform.
• Learn, within the context of digital literacy, to utilize various electronic tools in the study of history.
• Develop a spirit of cooperation by working as a team.
• Develop self-efficacy and learn to build knowledge on their own

DESCRIPTION
The teaching method used is differentiated teaching which responds to the special characteristics of the students and their interests, in order to construct their own knowledge upon the foundation of previous learning. This prior knowledge influences what new knowledge an individual will construct from new learning experiences. The WOW-HI Educational On-line Platform will offer special material for pupils to learn and where deemed necessary, the indicative method based on projections will be used. Pedagogically, an attempt will be made to apply exploratory and collaborative learning. Students will work in groups, within which they can assume specific roles. The form of teaching will be dialectic with some use of narration to ensure the co-investigation of teacher – student. The teacher's role will generally be that of a facilitator. The printed WORKSHEET will be distributed to the students.
The worksheet consists of four activities. Students using the WOW-HI platform are asked:
ACTIVITY 1: To understand that ‘‘Ithomi’’ is the name of an ancient fortress and a mountain.
ACTIVITY 2: To be aware of the main events of the area ’s history.
ACTIVITIES 3 & 4: To connect ancient ‘‘Ithomi’’ with nowadays landscape
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
One academic hour is enough because the course is adapted to the special needs of the students. In addition, it would be good to give clarifications by showing pictures, maps, short videos and using historical line while reading the texts
