Cooperative groups of four students, assigning roles to them. It is an introductory session for the lesson plan 2 (made up of 3 sessions), so that we pave the way for the Geography and History teacher within our Bilingual Plan (CLIL approach)

The final product / outcome must be short debate to introduce lesson plan 2, that will take place the following year within the continuum created in the development of our curriculum

DESCRIPTION
Firstly, students will be presented with information and concepts so they can inductively learn them through a text. Critical thinking is fostered by means of true/false sentences to agree on
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
There have been continuous changes and improvements in our city, so students get familiar with the culture and history of our town through this session
ATTENTION TO DIVERSITY
Measures to cater for diversity:
1) Glossary to support vocabulary
2) Scaffolding techniques, from Lower Order Thinking Skills to Higher Order Thinking Skills (Bloom, 1956)
3) Heterogeneous groups and different roles in every team. The introductory part can be well-prepared and learnt, whereas the 2nd rebuttal and the conclusion demand a higher level in English.
4) Language frames to improve fluency
5) Reduction or extension of the speaking time
6) Multiple Intelligences are considered in the design of the tasks and materials
7) Programmes for the Reinforcement of Learning for students with difficulties
